SOME TIPS WHILST IN USA

USA is a Muslim Country and although it is modern, it is important to respect the culture, customs and the local laws. There are many websites informing about the local laws of a country, it is better to read same. If in any doubt about whether something is illegal, simply don’t do it. Ask local enthusiasts for advice, if in doubt.

Although holding hands or greeting with light kisses on cheeks is fine, please remember that other displays of affection are not acceptable and not appreciated in public.

Always behave in a polite and orderly manner in public and do not raise your voice or use abusive language or pick fights.

It is always better to be modestly dressed in public areas.

USA has stringent rules and regulations at Immigration.

DRUGS
Ensure that you do not accidentally bring any drugs or prohibitive substances into the USA, as this is illegal. New York has a no-tolerance level for “prohibitive substances”. Make sure that your clothes, pockets, shoe soles are washed or wiped clean from any accidental substance debris.

ALCOHOL
USA has a zero-tolerance level for alcohol. Don’t drink and driving. Please see that you have a valid alcohol licence in the event you need to purchase same or keep it at home.

Though hotels and bars serve alcohol, please see that you do not get in to a fight or argument, which will be led to get the police involved; you will not like it thereafter.

MIDDLE FINGER SIGN
Please refrain from showing your middle finger. It is considered very offensive here and may lead to jail, in the event a complaint is lodged with the police.

Please retain a copy of your passports with family back home, just in case you are a victim of some mishap whilst in the USA.

Please retain information of your Embassy or Consulate whilst visiting any country.
